Vetmedin® (Pimobendan) Oral Solution 1.5 mg / 50 mL

Vetmedin (pimobendan) is a prescription inodilator recommended for dogs diagnosed with congestive heart failure (CHF) due to myxomatous mitral valve disease (MMVD) or dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM). Clinical studies have shown that Vetmedin can help increase survival time and improve quality of life in dogs with CHF. This oral solution makes administration easier for dogs that prefer liquid medication and allows precise dosing.

Key Details:

• Strength & Count: 1.5 mg / 50 mL oral solution with calibrated dosing syringe.

• Class: Inodilator (calcium sensitizer and phosphodiesterase III inhibitor).

• Indication (Dogs): For the management of CHF due to MMVD or DCM. Proven to improve survival and reduce clinical signs of heart failure.

• Use Only Under Vet Supervision: Dosage is weight-based (0.23 mg/lb or 0.5 mg/kg) divided into two doses, administered orally approximately 12 hours apart. Must not be mixed with food. Syringe provided for accuracy.

• Contraindications/Cautions: Do not use in dogs with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, aortic stenosis, or other conditions where increased cardiac output is inappropriate. Not for use in cats. Monitor closely for arrhythmias and progression of disease.

• Feline Safety: Safety and effectiveness not established in cats.

• Storage: Store at or below 77°F (25°C); short-term exposure up to 86°F (30°C) acceptable. Do not shake. Once opened, use contents within 8 weeks. Keep securely out of reach of pets and children.

• Regulatory: Prescription required; federal law restricts this drug to use by or on the order of a licensed veterinarian.
