Sucralfate is a veterinary prescription gastroprotectant used in dogs, cats, and horses. It is prescribed for the treatment and prevention of gastrointestinal ulcers, erosions, and esophagitis. By forming a protective coating over damaged tissue, Sucralfate shields the GI tract from stomach acid, bile salts, and digestive enzymes, helping promote healing and reduce discomfort.
