Simplicef® (cefpodoxime proxetil) is a veterinary prescription broad-spectrum cephalosporin antibiotic used in dogs. It is FDA-approved for the treatment of skin infections (wounds, abscesses, cellulitis, pyoderma) caused by susceptible strains of bacteria. Simplicef® is often prescribed when once-daily dosing and reliable efficacy are desired for treating bacterial infections.
