Felimazole (methimazole) coated tablets are used for the treatment of hyperthyroidism in cats, a condition most often diagnosed in senior cats. Feline hyperthyroidism is caused by excess production of thyroid hormone in the thyroid gland, which can lead to symptoms such as weight loss, increased thirst and urination, vomiting, and excess activity. This medication helps normalize thyroid hormone levels, improving your cat’s health and comfort.

• Class: Antithyroid medication.

• Indication (Cats): Treatment of hyperthyroidism caused by an overactive thyroid gland.

• Feline Safety: Do not use in cats with hypersensitivity to methimazole, carbimazole, or polyethylene glycol; in cats with primary liver disease, renal failure, autoimmune disease, hematological disorders, or coagulopathies; or in pregnant or lactating queens.

• Use Only Under Vet Supervision: Initial dose is typically 2.5 mg every 12 hours, with dosage adjustments based on serum total T4 levels and clinical response. Follow veterinarian’s exact dosing and monitoring schedule.
