Doxycycline Hyclate is a broad-spectrum antibiotic synthetically derived from oxytetracycline, prescribed by veterinarians to treat a wide range of bacterial and blood-borne infections in pets. Commonly used for kennel cough, respiratory infections, Lyme disease, Ehrlichia canis, Rocky Mountain spotted fever, and as part of heartworm treatment protocols. Effective in dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, and other small animals.

Use with caution alongside vitamins, supplements, oral antacids, mineral products (especially iron), bismuth compounds, digoxin, theophylline, warfarin, or insulin, as interactions may occur. May cause false urine glucose test results.

• Side Effects: Possible nausea, vomiting, photosensitivity (skin blisters or pustules with sun exposure), and rare allergic reactions such as facial swelling, hives, severe vomiting/diarrhea, shock, seizures, or collapse. Seek veterinary care immediately if severe symptoms occur. Long-term use may promote unwanted bacterial or fungal overgrowth.
