Interceptor Plus is a prescription broad-spectrum parasite preventive for dogs, combining milbemycin oxime and praziquantel in a palatable monthly chew. It provides trusted protection against heartworms (caused by mosquito transmission) and treats and controls tapeworms, roundworms, hookworms, and whipworms. With a chicken-flavored chewable, it’s easy to administer and helps ensure dogs stay protected year-round.

• Indication (Dogs):

  • Heartworm Prevention: Protects against Dirofilaria immitis when given monthly.

  • Intestinal Parasites: Treats and controls tapeworms, roundworms, hookworms, and whipworms.

• Age/Weight Requirements: For dogs and puppies at least 6 weeks of age and weighing 2 lbs. or more.

• Use Only Under Vet Supervision: A valid prescription is required. Dogs should be tested for existing heartworm infection before starting therapy. If a dose is missed, follow veterinary instructions regarding re-dosing and possible testing.

• Contraindications/Cautions: Do not use in puppies under 6 weeks old or dogs under 2 lbs. Safety has not been evaluated in breeding or lactating dogs. Use with caution in dogs carrying high numbers of microfilariae, as mild hypersensitivity reactions may occur.

• Possible Side Effects: Most dogs tolerate Interceptor Plus well. Rare reactions may include vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy, hypersalivation, or labored breathing.

• Storage: Store at 59–77°F (15–25°C). Protect from moisture and keep in original packaging until use.

• Regulatory: Prescription required; federal law restricts this drug to use by or on the order of a licensed veterinarian.
