Clomicalm is a prescription tricyclic antidepressant medication used as part of a comprehensive behavioral management program to treat separation anxiety in dogs over 6 months of age. It can help alleviate inappropriate barking, destructive behavior, and inappropriate elimination when used in conjunction with behavior modification techniques such as desensitization and counterconditioning.

• Indication (Dogs): Treatment of separation anxiety, inappropriate barking, destructive behavior, and inappropriate elimination when paired with behavior modification.

• Indication (Other Species): Not approved for use in cats or other animals.

• Feline Safety: Not for feline use.

• Use Only Under Vet Supervision: Monitor for changes in appetite, behavior, or overall health. May interact with MAO inhibitors, certain anesthetics, anticholinergic drugs, and CNS-active medications. Inform your veterinarian about all current and future medications.

• Contraindications/Cautions: Do not use in dogs with known hypersensitivity to clomipramine or other TCAs, in male breeding dogs, dogs with seizure history, or within 14 days before/after MAO inhibitor use. Use with caution in dogs with cardiovascular disease, liver disease, glaucoma, urinary retention, or gastrointestinal motility issues. Not for dogs under 6 months of age.

• Storage: Store at 59–77°F (15–25°C) in a tightly sealed container, away from light.

• Regulatory: Prescription required; federal law restricts this drug to use by or on the order of a licensed veterinarian.
